This orange and red blanket is for Ashton my grandson. He chose the colours from the Bendigo Woollen Mill colour chart in Classic 8 ply. The pattern required 12 ply so I knitted the blanket using 2 strands of the 8 ply. This worked beautifully. I changed the pattern by omitting the bands of one colour that break up the long panels.
When Ashton saw his blanket and compared it with his brother's, he said he thought he liked Kase's better (with the bands of one colour). The pattern Lorraine's Rug is available as a digital download and also in the book Seven Chunky Rugs to Knit in 12 ply.
