When you are knitting (or crocheting), manage and protect your yarn with a cube shaped Yarn Box. The box construction features mitred corners with splines. The box sides are pine and the splines and trims are in a contrasting dark coloured wood species. The boxes have a sliding lid that is held with a magnetic catch and the lid has a slot for the yarn to exit easily when you are knitting or crocheting. There is a handy finger hole in each side of the Yarn Box so that it is easy to lift and position the Yarn Box with one hand.
All boxes are crafted and beautifully finished by Ferg. The contrasting splines and trims are in a darker toned wood species (Jarrah, Australian Cedar, dark grained Meranti, American Walnut, or similar). Where possible, recycled timbers are used.
The boxes come in three sizes:
The Bendigo Box (17.5 x 17.5 x 17.5cm), designed to manage and protect the large, popular 200g balls from Bendigo Woollen Mills, or similar. This Yarn Box has four splines in each corner.
The Midi Box (14 x 14 x 14cm), designed to hold a ball wound from a 100g skein or a commercial 100g or 50g ball. This Yarn Box has two splines in each corner.
The Midi Duo Box (26 x 14 x 14cm), designed to hold two balls of yarn for your projects when using two yarn colours. Each compartment in the Midi Duo Box is the same size as the Midi Box, suitable for balls of yarn up to 100g.
Use the selection drop-down to choose the box size for your Yarn Box before adding to the shopping cart.
Note: Wood grain and timber colour variations make each Yarn Box unique. Pine side panels may have knots. Yarn Boxes will vary from images shown.
This smaller box is great when i take my knitting out for the day . It fits well in the craft bag. The holes either side are a great new addition to it being more serviceable. Once again beautifully made. Thanks Ferg and Daphne from Jenny.
The box has kept my wool from running away. I also bought one for my 91 year old mum and she loves it. She puts it on the floor when knitting then up on the lounge when finished. She doesn’t have to chase her wool anymore.
